Welcome to the
Magical Baseball
History Tour

Where savvy baseball travelers
start their trips.

If you love baseball and its history and like to visit ballparks and other sites of baseball interest around the country, bookmark us now!

The Magical Baseball History Tour is a year-round journey in search of the best historic baseball sites that we will share with you.

Here you'll find travel suggestions, travel tips and baseball facts. We'll tell you about museums, monuments, grave sites, minor league, collegiate, major league and even no-longer-existing ballparks to make your next baseball trip an even richer, more fulfilling, more memorable experience.

We'll discuss the new (and old) books that tell the great stories of baseball history. And we'll tell you where we've been and where we're going to be, so we can share some baseball travel together. We promise to be lively and informative to help you plan your next baseball odyssey.

2010 Update: Much has changed since the Magical Baseball History Tour was fully updated.  Stay Tuned as we bring the site up to date with new information and developments.

How to Plan a Trip: Knowing where and when to go is the key to a fun and meaningful baseball excursion.

Baseball Events: They are happening all over at venues like the Baseball Heritage Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, and non baseball places as well.

101 Destinations: We present our favorite baseball travel locations, leading off with college baseball sites.

Essential Books: We're biased, but Where Cleveland Played: Sports Shrines from League Park to the Coliseum is an essential to us. There will also be a companion audio tour.

Paul's Picks, Pans and Memories: A review of Gene Carney's Burying the Black Sox, spring training memories, plus candid commentary on ballpark touring and hot dog cuisine.

Footsteps to Follow: When planning your travels, consider following the footsteps of these baseball legends.

More Features: Author, lecturer and film historian Rob Edelman shares photos from his baseball journeys.

MBHT on the Road: We report on our "Lewis & Clark" trip to the 2006 SABR convention, Baseball Heritage Fest and 2006 Pirate Fest.
